The 2023 New Year’s Invitational will be held on January 5th – 8th, 2023.
The New Year’s Invitational has enjoyed the participation of outstanding players from around the world. Past winners include Masters champion Bob Goalby, FedEx champion Brandt Snedeker, PGA Tour winners Gary Koch and JB Holmes, European Tour winner Sam Horsfield and US Amateur champions Buddy Alexander and Peter Uihlein. Remi Chartier defended his 2021 title in 2022, winning with a 279 total.
Championship Division
The tournament will be played January 5-8, 2023. Entrants in the Championship Division must have a USGA handicap not greater than 2.0. The tournament format will be 72 holes, stroke play, from the championship tees. The Championship Division will consist of the first 96 paid entries accepted. The field will be cut to the low 55 players and ties after 54 holes.
The entry fee of $495 includes the tournament rounds and practice round Wednesday, January 4th. Players may request an earlier, alternate date for a practice round by contacting our pro shop at 727-864-1595. Please note that the entry fee includes state and local sales taxes.
For the tournament rounds, buffet breakfasts and after-round refreshments will be provided to competitors each day. This year, carts will be available to all contestants, however those who wish to walk may do so.
Private housing with member families will be available on a limited basis. A list of hotels within a reasonable distance of the club will be available later this fall on the tournament website.
Champion and runner-up crystal will be presented following the conclusion of play Sunday. The top finisher among Mid-Am’s(players 25 and over) will also receive a crystal award. Merchandise prizes to those players and other top finishers will be available at that time.
