The New Year’s Invitational has been played at St. Petersburg Country Club every years since 1927, considered as of the longest running amateur tournaments in the United States. This prestigious event is renowned for attracting top amateur golfers from around the globe. Former winners include current PGA Tour pros such as Hayden Buckley, Brandt Snedeker, Luke List, JB Holmes, as well as top 10 ranked amateur Nick Cabrelcik. Former PGA legends such as Bob Goalby and Gary Koch are also among the tournament’s most notable winners.

KORN FERRY AWARD
This year’s tournament will be incredibly thrilling for our winner due to a new partnership between SPCC and The LECOM Sunocast Classic. The LECOM Suncoast Classic, a tournament on The Korn Ferry Tour, has awarded an exemption to the upcoming winner. This will place our winner in position to complete alongside some of the best in the game of golf in April 2025 at Lakewood National Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch, FL at The LECOM Suncoast Classic.

Beginning in 2018, the NYl Committee started a new tradition to give back to the community and the game of golf through a donation to The First Tee of St. Petersburg.
